Star-Crossed Myth: Aigonorus

Worth the Trouble

I’ve often said that the gods in the Department of Wishes don’t interest me all that much, and of those, I have to say, Aigonorus was pretty much the one I found the least intriguing. I mean, he’s asleep, always, everywhere, even in everybody else’s story. Since he’s part of the second set of stories, I would have to choose him to protect me. Protect. How much protection can be afforded by someone who’s asleep all the time? Exactly. So I couldn’t possibly fathom how that should work. Obviously, neither can the other gods. But clearly, the King knows what he’s doing…

Star-Crossed Myth, Sequel: Ichthys

Dark Secrets

Ichthys is my unexpected other favourite. I love him. I know I love people who are a little bit like him in real life, and I know they also exasperate me. But there is something so irresistibly pure about Ichthys, something so innocent – there’s great beauty in that.

Since I recently decided to read all of his stories, the obvious place to start is his sequel, which I viewed with a measure of trepidation, because apparently somebody is trying to kill my darling. That’s what the blurb says, but, as we’ve discovered frequently with Voltage, that’s not entirely true. Ichthys is just collateral damage, as the real targets are his parents. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

Star-Crossed Myth: Leon

L’État c’est Moi

A Conversation

Me: Gah! You mean I have to PLAY the bastard?? 😉
The Librarian: You will learn to… tolerate him. 😝😝
Me: The hair will probably save him. And [my] having read Zyglavis’ sequel.
The Librarian: As it does most Leos. He might actually be more up your alley than Scorpio. The MC is required to be a bit more forceful and brash to get along with him.
Me: Damn. Now I’m almost excited!
The Librarian: Pro tip: shoot Zyglavis dirty looks whenever you can.
Me: I COULD NEVER! He’s my man. 🖤 Wait. That means you totally did!
The Librarian: No, I didn’t!!! I didn’t even know him and couldn’t. But it was one of the options and in the POV it’s made clear that it was the correct choice.

So, Voltage has finally transferred Star-Crossed Myth to Love365, and as a treat, they offered us Leon’s route for free. Well then. I guess I have no choice but to read it. The things I’ll do in the interest of… uh… SCIENCE! Yes. Science.

Star-Crossed Myth, Sequel: Zyglavis

Breaking the Law

Since Voltage are leaving me high and dry with the next instalment of the Paradiso Four, I’m going back to my greatest love of all: Star-Crossed Myth. Now you also have a Whitney Houston song stuck in your head, or the one from Judas Priest. Either way, you’re welcome.

Zyglavis is my man. We’ve established that. When I saw the cover image of his sequel, I knew I HAD TO KNOW. How dare you throw my man into a dungeon? What could he possibly have done? And how can it possibly not have been entirely justified? This is Zyglavis we’re talking about! Never was there anyone more proper, more just, more inherently LAWFUL GOOD than this man! HOW DARE YOU? I’m looking at you, King.

Star-Crossed Myth: Partheno

The Abyss Also Gazes Into You

Ah, Partheno, the most beautiful of all the gods! Adored in the heavens for his charm and beauty, he is the paragon of gods, and your true champion… Or so you thought.

Before I began to read, I was aware that Partheno probably required a trigger warning of some sort. I knew this was going to be the most difficult of the stories I’ve read. This, because Partheno is, actually, twisted. In this case, it’s not an exaggeration of some harmless fun and games, no: there is a real abyss here, and as the MC, you walk right into it.
